(Arnolds Park)– An Arnolds Park police officer is on administrative leave after being charged for allegedly providing a gun to his underage son. A criminal complaint filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office charges 46-year-old Andy Yungbluth with one count of transfer of a pistol or revolver to a person under 18. The charge is a serious misdemeanor.
The complaint states that during an interview conducted as part of the investigation, Yungbluth told a deputy he provided the gun to his son for protection while at home and to shoot raccoons for someone outside of city limits.
Online court documents indicate a special prosecutor has been appointed at the request of the Dickinson County Attorney due to conflict of interest concerns. November 19th has been set as the date for an initial appearance and preliminary hearing in the case.
