Lake Park City Council Says Thanks But No Thanks To Land Purchase Offer

(Lake Park)– The future of the former Aspire nursing home and the land on which it’s located was a topic of discussion at Monday evening’s Lake Park City Council meeting. The owner of the property told the council a potential buyer has stepped forward and that she wanted to see if the city has any interest in it before considering the offer. She said plans are in the works for a potential residential development on that part of the land facing Silver Lake and possibly some apartments where the nursing home is currently.

One council member said owning the land would give the city direct oversight as to how it’s developed, but expressed concern over the potential cost and whether or not the city would be able to get its money back once the development is completed. Mayor Matt Carstensen…

The council voted 5-0 not to make an offer on the property.
