(Jackson, Mn.)– A fundraising campaign is underway as the Jackson Center for the Arts looks to keep its doors open. It’s been dubbed Open Doors, Open Minds. Board Member Kathy Fransen says the idea was spearheaded by Perry and Teresa Pearson of Okoboji…
“Perry Pearson generously put out a pledge to donate $8,000 conditionally that we match that amount of money by the end of this year. His support really meant a lot to us.”
The Jackson Center for the Arts is run by an all volunteer crew and have created an space for all to enjoy in Jackson. Fransen says they’re proud of what they’ve been able to accomplish…
“We’ve offered a lot of programs that wouldn’t even be possible. We’ve had intimate concerts, we’ve brought in musicians from all over the country to the arts center, our gallery exhibits are just extraordinary. Herman Woodbury has just done an amazing job with the gallery. And our art classes for children who are unable to have other experiences like that. And adults, as well. Adults who learned water color and different forms of art that they never would have done before.”
The JCA was challenged by the Pearson’s to match the $8000 amount by the end of this year and they are very close to doing so. Fransen says there are several ways you can donate…
“People can donate by going to our website, you can find the QR code, there’s venmo they can send to us, you can write a check, it’s all tax deductible, we are a 501c3, and you can mail it physically to our P.O. box 94 in Jackson. You can call at 849-7415 or send an email. You can contact us through Facebook. Any of the board members would be very happy to have a discussion about how people can donate.”
