(Washington, D.C.)– Iowa U.S. Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst met last week with students from the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives as part of the group’s annual Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. The visit gave students an opportunity to discuss federal issues and learn more about how Congress operates.
Grassley spoke with the group about his role as President Pro Tempore, his committee assignments and federal policies affecting small family farmers. Students also asked questions about government, public service and the legislative process.
The delegation included high school students from communities across the state, including Spencer, Estherville, Pocahontas, Spirit Lake, West Bend, Rockwell City and several others.
