Seasons Center Unveiling Crisis Stabilization Center

November 29, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– Seasons Center for Behavioral Health will hold a ribbon cutting December 5th on a new facility they’ll be opening in Spencer. Karen Rosengreen, Vice President of Medical Services, says they’ll be unveiling a Crisis Stabilization Center…

“We’ve been working on it for the last two years. It will be a four-bed crisis stabilization residential center for the northwest corner of the state located at our Spencer main office next door to the hospital. We will have four beds up to a three to five day stay for any individual 18 and over experiencing a mental health crisis. This would be something that would not require an inpatient level of care and something that is short term stabilization working on some skill building and therapy to get back on your feet.”

Rosengreen says the center will have a special name…

“We are dedicating and naming the center Alex’s Place after Alex Jacobson who was a local resident who did end his life completing suicide. His family has spent a great amount of time working with us to ensure that the space is welcoming and comforting and something that Alex would be very proud of.”

She adds they plan to start offering services out of the center in January…

“We will be opening our center for individuals to come in and be referred to our center through our crisis line, 24-7 crisis line that we do offer by calling 844-345-4569 and a date will be solidified in January shortly to come and announced at the open house.”

The December 5th ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10:30 am with an open house going on until 1:00 pm that afternoon.

Rosengreen adds the facility was created as part of a remodeling project at Season’s Center’s Administrative Office at 201 East 11th Street in Spencer.
