Dickinson Co. Supervisors Hear Update From Recorder’s Office

October 18, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors Tuesday heard a quarterly update from County Recorder Ann Ditsworth. She says her office is seeing a decrease in real estate transactions, reflecting state and national trends…

“We still had a strong quarter one in our real estate revenues. Not as high as ’21, fiscal ’21, but certainly way higher than fiscal ’18.”

Ditsworth says one area they’re seeing a big increase in is registrations for ATV’s and utility-type vehicles…

“We have you’ll recall, ARPA dollars in our office that we’re working on a project with the Auditor’s Office to do some historic preservation and that’s underway. The scanning is happening right now and hopefully nearing completion by the end of this month.”

On another note, Dittsworth says her office, along with the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office, are continuing with a project to make additional documents available online…

“As you see through the questions that come about can they be on the roads, and where can they be in the county, there’s just a lot more of those vehicles happening kind of everywhere but especially here, so. That number is an interesting one. And we are now able to register ATV, ORV, ORM, that’s off road motorcycle, and snowmobiles, for 2024.”

Dittsworth says her office continues to see a lot of traffic for things such as vital records and passports as well.
