Dickinson Co. Supervisors Approve Abatement On Abandoned House In Superior

February 14, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) approved a resolution to abate taxes on a dilapidated home in Superior that will eventually allow the city to assume ownership of it. The city says it’s become a safety hazard and can’t do anything with it until it owns the property.

In other business, the supervisors also approved a professional services agreement with Alpha Wireless as part of a multi-million dollar upgrade of the county’s 911 radio system. The company will work to obtain credits to reduce some of the overall cost of the new system. The agreement approved today (Tues.) is for $30,000 not payable until the new system is up and running successfully. Emergency Management/911 Coordinator Mike Ehret told the Supervisors that amount will be reduced to $15,000 in the event Alpha Wireless doesn’t come up with at least $15,000 in credits for the county. The agreement will be paid for through the county’s 911 funds.
