Milford City Council Discusses Streets Near Boji Junction

October 26, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– The condition of 23rd Street near Boji Junction was a topic of discussion at Monday evening’s Milford City Council meeting. The council learned it’s going to cost a little more than $41,000 to repair some cracking and other issues going on with the street that was put in by the original developer of what was then Boji Bay. That had councilman Andy Yungbluth asking this question…

It was stated the ultimate goal is for the city to eventually assume responsibility for the street once it’s up to standards. However they want to talk first with the present developer that owns some land nearby to see if he might be interested in sharing a portion of the cost.

The council also discussed a project to extend “N” Avenue in the same vicinity, but said they want to talk to the same developer to see if he may be interested in helping foot some of the bill for that as well.

In other business, the Milford City Council formally adopted some parking restrictions on portions of Sportmans Drive; and they held a public hearing on a proposal to reconstruct several streets in the South Shore Estates area. Following the hearing the council awarded the low bid of about $673,000 from Beck Excavating. Some curb and gutter work on the project could get underway yet this fall, with most of the work likely holding off until in the spring.
