Water Quality Of Jackson To Be Tested and Improved

(Jackson)– The City of Jackson is starting to do work on their water filtration systems, hoping to improve both their quality and manganese amount, which is currently over the state threshold of acceptable manganese content in public water The city approved the hiring of a water testing trailer on Tuesday with the intention to begin the process of replacing some of the city’s old filtration systems. The tests will mimic water systems, and their findings will influence what happens next with the replacement of old systems in the city. Water Improvement 

 

City Administrator Matt Skaret says that the findings will help the city determine what filter will be best to replace the old one and will help to provide remedies, such as chemical modifications, to reduce the amount of manganese in the water. 

 

The findings of this survey, set to cost $14,500, are meant to improve existing systems and replace old ones, and hopes to improve the water quality for the people of Jackson.
