(Spirit Lake)– Some special recognition for Lakes Regional Healthcare. It was announced Wednesday LRH has scored among the top 10 percent in centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Reimbursement program.
Lakes Regional Healthcare President and CEO Jason Harrington tells KUOO news they implemented the program early on…
“It’s being good stewards from a cost effectiveness standpoint. It’s ensuring that we, that the country is delivering good clinical outcomes, that we have high levels of patient satisfaction and probably most importantly of all of those, that we’re delivering care in the safest way possible.”
Harrington says it speaks volumes of the healthcare providers and personnel at LRH…
“There’s 3,000 hospitals that are part of Value Based Purchasing. We were 111 out of those 3,000 so it’s actually if you do the math, it’s the top five percent of hospitals that participate in the program. We were certainly very, very excited about that. It’s, you know, to be amongst that group I think speaks so well of our care team here, our physicians, our nurses, our paramedics, our housekeepers, and our cafeteria staff, our technologists. I think none of that happens without them and so the recognition really belongs to them.”
Harrington says it’s also something the entire community can be proud of.
