(Milford)-A Farm Couple Getaway is being offered in the Iowa Great Lakes, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has more:
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a Farm Couple Getaway February 21-22 in Milford.
Diary program Specialist Fred Hall explains. “As everyone knows, during the last several years, farm families have experienced tremendous stress, not just financially, but in their personal relationships. At the beginning of this year we put this program together and had the first two outings over in Northeast Iowa, and found tremendous results so we expanded it and we’re fortunate enough here in Northwest Iowa to have the program at the Lakeshore Center at Okoboji.”
He adds that participants will be offered some helpful tools at the Getaway. “What we’re going to talk about, the relationships in the family. How do you talk to the kids when things are a little stressful, how do you deal with stress. We’ll talk about setting goals, and actually writing them down.”
