(Wahpeton)– It’s recommended some residents of Wahpeton boil water following a water main break this (Monday) morning in the area of Burr Oak Road.
Officials say the break caused a portion of the distribution system to lose pressure and that out of precaution, it’s recommended water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking. This is for those living on Burr Oak Road, Burr Oak Circle, Mills Park Circle and Gull Point Place.
They add that once service is restored, there may be air in the piping and that there could be some temporary discoloration.
Officials say the advisory will remain in place until bacterial sample results come back satisfactory.
