(Estherville)– The Estherville City Council earlier this week adopted a new ordinance regarding parking during snow events.
City officials say whenever two inches or more of snow is in the forecast or actually occurs, a “snow event” will be declared and will remain in effect until the snow has been cleared from streets. Once a snow event is in effect, parking is prohibited on any portion of any public street or alley between 2:00 am and 8:00 am or until the snow has been cleared from the street.
Estherville officials say any vehicle that’s in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
