(Spencer)– The city of Spencer has been awarded a $25,000 matching grant from the Wellmark Foundation for the installation of pedestrian crossings.
The city of Spencer was one of 19 entities awarded grants through the program. Recipients were notified of the awards in August and had 16 weeks to secure the matching funds required in order to receive their funding.
The grants are for projects that help individuals, families and communities achieve better health through built environment initiatives that encourage physical activity and consumption of and access to healthy foods.
