(Estherville)-It’s almost time to kick off the Holiday Season in Estherville, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Estherville Chamber will host their Annual Chocolate Walk and Parade of Lights on Thursday evening.
Executive Director Lexie Ruter says the Chocolate Walk will get underway at 4 o’clock. “It’s a great way to kick off your holiday shopping and start to get a feel for some of those great gift items you want to give, maybe some home decor to get ready for the holiday season. We’ll have candies and brownies and home-baked goods and all sorts of stuff. Our stores pull out all the stops for the fun that evening.”
The Parade of Lights will feature a Blizzard theme this year. “The word blizzard was invented here in Estherville, first notably used in a publication in Estherville, Iowa. so, we’ll have lots of different floats with a blizzard theme and it will be a lot of fun.”
The parade will get underway at 7 o’clock on Central Avenue at 13th Street and go west to 5th Street this year. Santa will light up Library Square following the parade.
