Florida Man Charged In Robbery Of A Spencer Convenience Store

October 30, 2019

(Spencer)– A Florida man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery Tuesday evening of a Spencer convenience store.

Spencer police say they were called around 10:18 pm to the Dynos Convenience Store at 1001 South Grand Avenue. A clerk told officers he had been robbed by a man who fled in a newer white sedan heading westbound.

Clay county deputies spotted the suspect vehicle a short time later and stopped it in the Verizon parking lot at 712 11th Street Southwest. The driver was identified as 22-year-old Jaime Saline Munoz of Shalimar, Florida, who was taken into custody.

Upon investigating officers learned Munoz had attempted to purchase a can of beer while he was in the store and that while he was speaking with the clerk, Munoz allegedly displayed a firearm tucked in his waistband and demanded money. Munoz then fled with the cash, which officers recovered along with a CO2 BB gun that was allegedly used in the robbery.

Munoz was charged with robbery in the 1st degree and was booked into the Clay county jail on a $25,000 bond.
