(Spirit Lake)-Applications are being accepted for the Adopt a Family program, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Upper Des Moines Opportunity is now taking applications for the Adopt A Family Program in Dickinson County.
Sondra Vitito says the program helps brighten the holidays for families in need. “It’s a program that we offer to those families that are income qualified. We have them apply, and they give what their children would like, and everything is anonymous. We put it in the newspaper and also exploreokoboji.com and then we have people that come in and say I want to adopt a family.”
She adds that families should apply at the Outreach Office in Spirit Lake. “They would have to come in to our office and then we have a little application that they fill out and they have to give us proof of income for the last 30 days and the information on their children.”
Applications are being accepted through November 22.
NOTE: Applicants should take proof of income for last 30 days and children’s wish list including clothing sizes.
