The Dickinson County Nature Center will hold two events for the Halloween holiday.

Environmental Education Coordinator Bryanna Kuhlman says Friday’s Family Nature Night will have a pumpkin theme.  “We are going to be talking about the life cycle of a pumpkin, what animals are involved in the pollination of a pumpkin and why those are important to have, and then we’ll be talking about the parts of a pumpkin.  We’ll be able to have each of the kiddos paint a pumpkin to take home.”

She adds that the Nature Center will also hold their annual Howlin’ Halloween program on October 31.  “We’re talking about corn snakes and also we’re gonna be talking about harvest corn and candy corn, and then  Allison from Kindermusik is gonna be joining us to lead us in some songs and activities, as well.  The Nature Center will give each kiddo a little treat to start off their trick or treat night, and the kids will also get to make a holiday corn craft.”

Both events are free, however registration is requested.
