(George)– Authorities say strong wind may have been a contributing factor in a crash Tuesday in Lyon county that injured a Spirit Lake man.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says Jared Weber of Spirit Lake was driving a 2010 Freightliner truck and trailer westbound on County Road A-34 about six miles east of George. Authorities say Weber was attempting to pass a slower moving vehicle when a gust of wind pushed the truck off the road. Deputies say Weber then over-corrected causing the truck to roll onto its side in the south ditch.
Weber was injured in the mishap and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The crash took place a little after 10:00 am.
