Former Milford Police Officer Pleads Guilty To Supplying Alcohol To A Person Under Age

October 16, 2019

(Spirit Lake)– A former Milford police officer has pleaded guilty to supplying alcohol to a person under age.

39-year-old Richard Zalabowski entered the plea Tuesday in Dickinson County District Court. A 60-day jail sentence was suspended. He was placed on probation for one year and fined $750.

Court records indicate Zalabowski provided alcohol to a 19-year-old girl December 8th during a party at a lakes area bar. The documents indicate the girl told investigators during an interview that Zalabowski provided her the alcohol.

The incident took place while Zalabowski was an officer with the Milford Police Department. He resigned shortly after being charged in the incident.
