(Des Moines)– A couple of area cities have been awarded low-interest loans through the Iowa Finance Authority and the DNR for various water and wastewater projects. The funding is through the State Revolving Fund that provides zero percent or low interest loans for planning and design of projects.

Locally, Lake Park was awarded a loan of $440,000 for planning and design of a sewer project. Peterson, in Clay county, will get a loan of $116,000 also for planning and design of a sewer project.

41 Iowa communities have received low-interest water quality loans through the latest round totaling more than $123 million.
