(Rock Rapids)– An investigation Friday by authorities in Lyon county into a report of a suspicious person resulted in the arrests of southwest Minnesota men on drug charges.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says a K9 unit was deployed around a vehicle and alerted for the presence of narcotics. Deputies made contact with a man who had been seen near the vehicle. The suspect, 50-year-old Scott Ehde of Hardwick, Minnesota, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabinoid oil, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and introducing drugs to a correctional facility.
Also arrested was 30-year-old Khamphone Thammalong of Worthington who was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, a drug tax stamp violation, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and fugitive from justice. Authorities say Thammalong was wanted on a valid Minnesota arrest warrant.
