(Spencer)– A workshop entitled “Finances of Care Giving” will be held in October in Spencer. Sara Dirks of Iowa State University Extension, Clay County, says it’s intended for adults who are or may be caring for a parent either now or in the future, or for parents who who may be needing help from their adult children in the future…
“So this five part series includes the development of a notebook of financial records, presentations by community experts and case studies. We will cover why it’s important to involve all family members in this discussion, get a realistic view of the cost of care, and what you should be doing now. We encourage everyone not to wait until there is a crisis to plan for long or short term care.”
The workshop will be held on Tuesday evenings in October from 5:30 until 7:30 pm at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. The cost is $35 per person, or $40 per couple. You can get more information and pre-register by contacting the Iowa State University Extension Office in Clay county at (712) 262-2264 or stop by the office at 110 West 4th Street in Spencer.
