Jackson Co. Farmers Warned To Secure Farm Machinery

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is telling farmers to make sure they take the keys out of ignitions and secure farm machinery…especially if it’s being left in fields.

The warning comes after authorities received atleast two reports over the past several days about farm machinery left in fields that’s been damaged by vandals.

Jackson County Sheriff Richard Seim says the first incident was reported Saturday morning. He says Duane Voss of Rost Township reported the windows had been broken out of his tractor and that it had been driven into his combine.

Another report was received Monday from Brenda Bass of Ewington Township who reported that her tractor had been driven into a combine.

Seim says both combines sustained extensive damage.

Anyone with information into either incident is asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at (507) 847-4420. Any information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a small reward.
