(Spencer)– Clay county authorities spent the day Saturday cleaning remnants of a methamphetamine lab northeast of Spencer.
Sheriff Randy Krukow says a passerby reported seeing a bag with suspicious items lying by a bridge near the intersection of 320th Street and 240th Avenue.
Krukow says deputies found several items used to make meth including ether containers, coleman fuel, batteries, sudafed packs and plastic bottles.
The Assistant State Fire Marshal and the Spencer Police Department’s Lab Technician assisted with disposal of the materials.
Krukow says everything used to make meth except anhydrous ammonia was found at the site.
And it just so happens the Clay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an anhydrous theft from the co-op in Fostoria.
Krukow reminds hunters and people walking in rural areas to report suspicious items and not to touch or move them.
