(Milford)– Bob Miller, currently an administrator with the Forest City School District, has been hired as the next Superintendent of the Okoboji School District.
The school board earlier this week approved the hiring of Miller, who will succeed Quentin Reifenrath, who will retire at the end of the current school year.
Miller has been at Forest City the past 14 years: nine of those as high school Principal. Prior to that he was an Associate Principal and Activities Director. Prior to coming to Forest City Miller taught and coached for eight years in the Clarion-Goldfield district. He also taught at Sioux City Bishop Heelan for five years; served one year as a volunteer assistant football coach at the University of Iowa; and taught one year in the Plainfield School District.
Miller tells KUOO news he looks forward to taking on his first job as Superintendent and the challenges that come with the position.
Miller says there were several things led to his interest in the Okoboji District, including the size of the district, and the location with the Iowa Great Lakes.
Miller and his wife have two grown children–a daughter who’s going to graduate school in Madison, Wisconsin; and a son who’s a junior at Minnesota State in Mankato.
Miller begins his new job as Superintendent of the Okoboji School District this coming July 1st.
