Lack Of Bids Leaves Dickinson Co. Supervisors Pondering Next Move

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A lack of bids has Dickinson county supervisors wondering how to dispose of two of the former Ferguson Manufacturing buildings west of the courthouse.

The county purchased those buildings as the company has moved to a new location on Memphis Avenue in Spirit Lake.

The county wants the former Ferguson Manufacturing buildings moved so it can convert the site between 18th and 19th Streets and Jackson Avenue and the courthouse into a parking lot.

It was reported at Tuesday’s board of supervisors meeting that the county received no bids from anyone interested in buying the buildings and relocating them.

The supervisors took no action Tuesday as to what their next step might be. The issue will be put on the agenda for next week’s meeting when the full board should be present. Supervisor Paul Johnson was absent Tuesday.
