(Spirit Lake)– Don’t look for any new bulletin boards to be going up in unincorporated areas of Dickinson county.
The board of supervisors voted unanimouly Tuesday to adopt a Planning and Zoning Commission recommendation that prohibits any new billboards from going up in any district. Existing bill boards will be allowed to stay, though.
The revised zoning ordinance also adds a definition to differentiate between billboards and regular signs.
Supervisor Paul Johnson, who’s been pushing the billboard ban, describes it as quote “visual production insurance for the future.
Tuesday’s vote followed a public hearing that drew no comments.
