SL Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against N. Central Iowa Woman

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Tuesday afternoon in Spirit Lake has resulted in drug charges being brought against a north-central Iowa woman.

Spirit Lake police say an officer made a routine traffic stop shortly before 2:00 p.m. on a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Jacquelyn Morgan of Thompson, Iowa.

A subsequent search turned up a green-leafy substance alleged to be marijuana and a white crystal substance alleged to be methamphetamine, along with several pipes and other drug paraphernalia.

Morgan was booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated; operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine; prohibited acts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
