(Milford)– The Milford Fire Department was called to the scene of a corn field fire this (Monday) afternoon.
Fire Chief Brian Craig says firefighters were called to a field four miles south and three miles east of Milford shortly after 2:00 p.m.
Craig says the fire burned about 10 acres. He says it was in a field of corn that had been blown down in a storm this past summer.
Craig believes the fire was started when some hot machinery came in contact with the downed corn.
No structures were threatened by the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The Milford Fire Department was assisted by the Fostoria Fire Department which helped haul water.
Firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half.
