(Emmetsburg)– A major expansion and remodeling project is about to get underway at a local hospital.
Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg will hold a groundbreaking ceremony October 6th on an 11 million dollar multi-phase construction/remodeling project.
Administrator Tom Lee says the project will be carried out in four phases. He says it will include a conversion to private patient rooms, renovations in outpatient surgery and the dietary department, and significant improvements in the hospital’s heating and cooling systems.
Lee says the Palo Alto County Health System board of trustees has been discussing and researching the feasibility of the project the last three years. They voted earlier this year to proceed.
