NW Ia. Community College Reports Record Fall Enrollment

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– Another local community college is reporting a record enrollment this fall.

Officials with Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon say 1,224 students are attending classes this fall, up 12 percent from last year. Since the fall of 2000, NCC has experienced an overall increase in enrollment of about 22 percent.

Jan Snyder, Vice President of Institutional Development and Enrollment Services, attributes the increase to successful retention initiatives, new program development, internet courses and the expansion of high school programs.

Northwest Iowa Community College offers 40 programs of study, including trade and vocational programs, health and business programs and Arts and Science Transfer programs.
