RISE Grant Awarded For Sutherland Project

November 22, 2014

(Sioux City)– Meeting today (Tuesday) in Sioux City, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy, or RISE Grant to the city of Sutherland.

The 28-thousand dollar grant will help finance the grading and paving of 1,300 feet of Elm Street from Iowa Highway 10 north to Fourth Street.

The project will improve access for the expansion of JTV Manufacturing, a laser steel cutting operation.

Officials say the project will create seven new jobs and bring two million dollars in associated capital investments to Sutherland.
