(Spencer)– A man wanted on warrants for four criminal charges out of Cherokee county was arrested last week in Clay county.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a vehicle matching the description of one wanted by Cherokee county authorities that was being driven by a suspect wanted on the warrants. Upon stopping the vehicle deputies determined the driver, 30-year-old Jeffrey Holmich of Storm Lake, was wanted on charges stemming from an altercation with a female from Cherokee.
Helmich was arrested on warrants charging him with burglary in the second degree; harassment; assault; and criminal mischief. Helmich was booked into the Clay county jail pending transport to the Cherokee county jail.
