Corridor Announces New Economic Development Tool

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation has a new tool available to help spur economic development in Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson and Emmet counties.

Kathy Evert, President of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, announced the formation of Iowa Lakes Capital, LLC…a broad-based for-profit fund that will help existing companies in the four-county area grow and help attract new ones.

The fund has been capitalized at 1.355 million dollars. Local business and community leaders from throughout the four counties have invested in the fund, which will be administered by the Corridor. Evert says Iowa Lakes Capital will look for equity opportunities in the four-county region as well as outside the area. She says the corridor will receive and process all requests for capital investments for all types of businesses in advanced manufacturing, biosciences or information solutions…including seed, early stage, start-ups, turn-arounds, expansions and owner transitions.
