(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision Monday in Spirit Lake sent two people to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 44-year-old Richard Pars of Elk Point, South Dakota and 19-year-old Kelsie Post of Spirit Lake were eastbound on Highways nine and 71 at the intersection with Keokuk Avenue. Authorities say Pars collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Post, who was turning right onto Keokuk Avenue.
Post and a passenger in her vehicle, 16-year-old Eric Post, also of Spirit Lake, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Their injuries were believed to be minor.
No injuries were reported to Pars.
Pars was cited for following too closely.
One thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2003 Ford pickup driven by Pars and owned by Chris Hansen Construction of Sioux City. A 1995 Ford Taurus driven by Post sustained an estimated four-thousand dollars in damage.
The mishap took place shortly after 7:30 a.m.
