(Worthington, Mn.)– Friday’s heavy snow was said to be a contributing factor in a four-vehicle pile-up on Highway 59 south of Worthington.
The Minnesota State Patrol says vehicles driven by 22-year-old Tino Vetsouranh and 40-year-old Hom Vanlo collided on the northbound shoulder. The vehicle driven by Vetsouranh and one driven by 29-year-old Mario Hernandez collided with a fourth vehicle driven by 45-year-old Somphane Souwankham.
Souwankham and a passenger in his vehicle, 39-year-old Syphanh Bounyavieng were taken to the Worthington Regional Hospital. Souwankham was treated and released; Bounyouvieng was treated for non-incapacitating injuries. No other injuries were reported.
All involved are from Worthington.
Moderate to severe damage was reported to the vehicles.
The collision took place around 5:00 a.m.
The State Patrol says the road was ice-covered at the time.
