(Estherville)– Some expansion projects could be in the works for Iowa Lakes Community College campuses in Estherville and Emmetsburg.
The board of trustees Tuesday decided to get specifications put together for a 5,600 square foot addition to the Wind Energy and Turbine Technology building at the Estherville campus, and for an addition at the Emmetsburg campus that would house a regional fire training facility.
The college has received a 400-thousand dollar state grant to develop the center.
The project would be coordinated through the State Fire Marshal’s Fire Service Training Bureau and would be constructed as funds allow.
The three-story building would include two ‘burn’ rooms and would be located on the northwest portion of the Emmetsburg campus in what is now a bean field.
