(Okoboji)– Some changes could be in the works for Okoboji’s noise ordinance.
City Administrator Dennis Daly says under the current ordinance, police must first receive a complaint before they can enforce the ordinance. Under the proposed revision, Daly says police themselves could initiate such complaints.
The city council Tuesday held the first reading on the proposed revision. They could have adopted it by waiving the second and third readings, but council members indicated they want to proceed with the additional hearings to get more public input.
The proposed ordinance will come back up for consideration at their December meeting.
