O’Brien County Man Sentenced On Federal Meth Charges

(Sioux City)– An O’Brien county man has been sentenced on meth charges in U-S District Court in Sioux City.

39-year-old Orrin Cain of Primghar pleaded guilty August 10th of this year to one count of conspiring to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine within a thousand feet of the South O’Brien Middle School in Primghar and to distributing methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine to persons under the age of 21.

The charges were contained in an indictment filed March 21st of this year in U-S District Court.

Cain was sentenced Wednesday to more than 15 years in federal prison and was ordered to pay a 100-dollar special assessment. He must also serve eight years of supervised release following the prison term.

Cain is being held in the custody of the United States Marshal until he can be transported to a federal prison.

The case was investigated by the O’Brien, Cly and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Offices, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Spencer Police Department.
