Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against Spirit Lake Man

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Saturday in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrest of a Spirit Lake man on drug charges.

Spirit Lake police say a routine traffic stop around 3:20 p.m. on a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Robert LeRoy Carlson of Spirit Lake resulted in a subsequent search that turned up items alleged to be marijuana and methamphetamine along with a glass pipe.

Carlson was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana…third offense; possession of methamphetamine…third offense; prohibited acts; defective exhaust system and driving while suspended. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail.

A 1997 Ford Aerostar van he was driving was seized and impounded.
