Traffic Stop Results In Arrest Of Emmetsburg Man On Multiple Charges

(Spencer)– A weekend traffic stop on Highway 18 in Clay county resulted in multiple charges against an Emmetsburg man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Upon investigating, a deputy determined the driver, 46-year-old Terry Simunek of Emmetsburg, was intoxicated. A controlled substance was also found in the vehicle.

Simunek was arrested and booked into the Clay county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…3rd offense; possession of a controlled substance, careless driving, excessive speed, failure to prove liability insurance and a registration violation.

Simunek was being held pending an initial court appearance.
