(Spirit Lake)– A second person is running for Dickinson County Recorder.
Janelle Treganza, a 10-year veteran of the office, has filed papers to run as an independent.
Ann Dittsworth is running as a Republican.
Dickinson county Democrats held a special convention to nominate someone from that party, but opted not to. Delegates instead issued a statement opposing any effort to combine the Recorder and Auditor’s offfices, referring to a petition that was circulating at the time that would have put the issue on the November General Election ballot. The petition failed to get the needed number of signatures however.
The Dickinson County Recorder position has been vacant since long-time Recorder Jan Bortscheller retired last month.
