November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A man wanted by Spencer police in connection with an assault that seriously injured another man has been taken into custody after police forced their way into a Spencer apartment late Wednesday.

21-year-old Christopher Fitzpatrick was arrested after officers forced their way into an apartment in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue southeast in Spencer after Fitzpatrick refused commands to come to the door. He was arrested and charged with willful injury in connection with the beating of 59-year-old Edward Kitto, who’s listed in critical condition in a Sioux Falls hospital.

Also taken into custody was 21-year-old Cody Millard of Spencer. He was charged with interference with official acts.

Both Fitzpatrick and Millard were booked into the Clay county jail.
