(Spirit Lake)– Authorities aren’t saying much about a weekend stabbing in Spirit Lake that left one man seriously injured.
Spirit Lake police say they were called to a report of a stabbing at 804 Hill Avenue shortly before 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival police and paramedics found 46-year-old Scott Leroy Sweazy suffering from a chest injury. Sweazy was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare and was transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition.
There’s no word on a possible suspect or if any charges have been filed in connection with the incident. Police say their investigation continues and that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is also now involved in the case.
Spirit Lake police were assisted on the scene by every law enforcement agency in the county, along with the Iowa State Patrol.
