(Arnolds Park)– Special honors for a lakes area tourism publication.
Vacation Okoboji Magazine has been recognized as the 2005 Consumer Publication of the Year by the Iowa Tourism Office. The award was presented earlier this week at the annual Iowa Tourism Conference in Council Bluffs.
Abby Larson of the Okoboji Tourism Committee, which puts out the magazine, says they had to meet several criteria for the award, including quality of publication and effectiveness in actually promoting tourism.
Larson says they’ve won the award four other times in recent years.
The Iowa Tourism Conference was held Monday through Wednesday of this week in Council Bluffs.
