(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision Monday at the intersection of Highways 9 & 71 and 18th Street near the Mega Saver gas station in Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital.
According to an accident report from the Spirit Lake Police Department, 32-year-old Jezzika Guthridge McKee of Milford was driving a 2020 Chevolet Trax on 18th Street and had stopped at a stop sign when she pulled out and collided with a 2025 Hyundai driven by 64-year-old Karen Morris of Estherville.
Morris was injured in the collision and was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Heatlhcare.
Damage to the vehicle driven by Guthridge McKee was estimated at $9,000; damage to the Hyundai driven by Morris was estimated at $10,000.
The collision took place a little before 5:00 pm.
Guthridge-McKee was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.
