Training Sessions To Be Held For Lakes Area Boat Ramp Volunteers

(Wahpeton)– Volunteers interested in manning lakes area boat ramps this summer educating boaters on the dangers of aquatic invasive species are urged to attend training sessions this Saturday.

Sessions are scheduled for 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Waitt Building at Lakeside Lab on the west side of West Lake Okoboji.

Each session will last about an hour.

Each volunteer is asked to be on a boat ramp for two hours a month through the summer.

Eurasian Watermilfoil has been found as close to the Iowa Great Lakes as Mill Creek and Dog Creek Lake near Paullina; zebra mussels are in Clear Lake.
