(Spirit Lake)– Spirit of Harmony Chorus brought home top honor trophies at the Sweet Adelines International Region Six Chorus Competition in Rochester, Minnesota, the weekend of April 25th, 2026.
Spirit of Harmony Chorus was crowned first place Region Six winner and also winner of first place in the small chorus division. Led by Director Judy Weipert of Spirit Lake, they scored 563 points to win the competition. This regional win entitles Spirit of Harmony (SOH) Chorus to compete at the international level in the 2027 Sweet Adelines International competition to be held in Seattle, Washington, October, 2027.
The Region Six, Sweet Adelines International Competition also included a quartet competition. Two quartets made up of members from the Spirit of Harmony chorus competed. Affinity Quartet achieved a 3rd place overall finish this year.
Another quartet, The Peppers, made up of members of Spirit of Harmony Chorus and Sweet Adelines International, Chapter-at-Large, also competed in the quartet competition. While they didn’t place in the top 5 they had a large gain of over 40 points in their score from their prior competition in 2024.

Spirit of Harmony also stages an annual show which will be held later this year at 2:00pm on November 7 at Iowa Lakes College Performing Arts Center in Estherville.
