(Luverne, Mn.)– An accident in southwest Minnesota has claimed the life of a teenager.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 16-year-old Christopher Ashby of Luverne was driving a 2006 Honda Civic southbound on Highway 75 south of Luverne. Authorities say Ashby was attempting to make a U-turn and was struck by a 1997 Peterbuilt semi driven by 42-year-old Todd Wessels of Ellsworth.
Ashby was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported to Wessels.
The car driven by Ashby was totalled; moderate damage was reported to the semi driven by Wessels.
The mishap took place around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday.
